Coach David Faugno is the founder of Fit For Soccer LLC and is currently the head strength and conditioning coach at the University of New Haven where he oversees all 10 sports, 13 teams and a total of 352 athletes. Coach Faugno specializes in soccer specific strength and conditioning training and is regarded as one of the top strength coaches in the industry. His qualifications include:
He continuously trains some of the top athletes from all corners of the globe and from all different levels. Some of his clients include High School All-Americans, Collegiate All-Americans(NCAA), USA Professional (MLS,USL), International Club players and national team players.
Coach Faugno is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the national strength and conditioning association (NSCA). He received his M.B.A in sports management from the University of New Haven and a B.S in Exercise Science (Concentration in Human Performance) and a minor in Sports Nutrition from Southern Connecticut State University. Coach Faugno has also has presented fitness sessions for CJSA (Connecticut Junior Soccer Association) educational coach clinics. Prior to becoming a strength coach Faugno served as an assistant soccer coach both at the university of New Haven and Southern Connecticut. As an assistant coach, his main responsibilities were to oversee the strength & conditioning program recruiting and goalkeeper training. Coach Faugno also serves a fitness instructor for many of the top club teams in Connecticut and currently coaches with South Central Premier and Monroe Soccer Club.
Prior to his coaching days, Faugno was a standout goalkeeper at NCAA powerhouse Southern Connecticut State University. During his four year career Southern posted a 61-11-12 record and captured 3 Northeast-10 regular season championships and 3 births to the NCAA championships. As captain his senior year SCSU reached NCAA elite-eight.
